Deity vs Idolatry – Spirituality Over Deception
“All the gods of the nations are idols: but the Lord made the heavens” (Psalm 96:5).
The apostle Paul effectively turned people throughout Ephesus, located in modern day Turkey, where I have visited the artifacts of these useless idols some called “gods” – away from these man-made idols and idolatry itself as a powerless spiritual practice. Paul turned the Ephesians and Asians to Christ boldly by preaching truth about lifeless and powerless idolatry.
Likewise the apostle Paul persuaded people and turned hearts to Christ throughout all of Asia; telling them “there are no gods, which are made with hands” (Acts 19:26). This simple, but powerful spiritual truth proved to be life-changing and transformative for countless people throughout Asia, where idolatry is a common practice. I know because I have lived all over Asia and traveled throughout the continent, where I have witnessed idolatry with my own eyes, people worshipping and praying to idols that were made by men and have no life in them. Idols have no ability to speak to those who pray to them.
Therefore deity, seeking the Creator who created the heavens, the earth, humanity, animals and plants is preferred and the more optimal spiritual practice to ensure genuine results that impact, improve, enhance and advance your life. Jesus said, “My sheep hear My voice and follow Me” (John 10:27). Those praying to idols or what they think to be gods, which never speak, nor answer their prayers; should walk away from these dumb idols and religious deception which misrepresents God and lies to people for profit.
